Clinical Testing Performed by

Having developed chemical sunscreens for 33 years, we decided as we moved into 100% natural products, to run the full global battery of tests. Carefree Natural has become one of the most successfully tested sunscreens in the world, having been put through FDA, Colipa (Europe and many countries) ISO24444 (numerous countries) Australia/New Zealand, all yielding SPF of 54 or higher, with Broad Spectrum rating above the 370 rating recognized globally as the standard. Additionally we ran the 8 hour water resistance test, 4 hour Australian water resistance test and RIPT skin irritation test. The results surpassed all expectations in both SPF and water resistance.

8 HOUR WATER RESISTANCE TEST
The 8 Hour Water Resistance Test Protocol was conducted by AMA testing labs in New York. Specifications of this test were created to be tougher than the FDA test, which requires a 20 minute immersion with 20 minute intermission, two times, to achieve the standard 80 minute rating. The specific goal has been to measure performance of a sunscreen in the water, and to rate its performance against “static” performance, meaning simply applying sunscreen, waiting a few minutes and measuring performance. The Carefree Skincare test requires 30 minute immersions, with only 10 minute intermissions, and this test is conducted with 12 consecutive, non-stop series of immersion/intermission, yielding an 8 hour test with 6 hours actually in the water. The SPF ratings assigned to Carefree Natural, are assigned AFTER the conclusion of the 8 hour test.

RIPT (SKIN IRRITATION TEST)
This is a tightly controlled FDA test, which requires that 50 people be tested in 9 different “risk” environments, which would promote skin irritation. This gives 450 opportunities for risk (9  environments times 50 test subjects).

AMA labs also conducted this test and the findings are that Carefree Natural SPF 50 receives a ZERO rating. Conclusion is that Carefree Natural products are safe on all skin types, ages and sensitivities, even seniors, who may have skin issues.
